With new programming, Classical KC honors its mission to champion music as a vital community resource and to invest in generations of classical music audiences.

The St. Louis Symphony - beginning October 2025

Specific Sundays from 2 - 4 p.m. and the following Wednesday, 8 - 10 p.m.

Classical KC extends its local reach to re-broadcast the most recent performances by the Grammy Award-winning St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to the music, these broadcasts include backstage interviews with soloists and conductors like Leonard Slatkin, Stéphane Denève, Joyce Yang, Orli Shaham, Joyce DiDonato and many more.

These broadcasts are produced by St. Louis Public Radio and made possible in partnership with St. Louis Public Radio and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.

Classical KC takes you inside the legendary Carnegie Hall for live performances by the biggest names in classical music, including the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic, London, Cleveland and Philadelphia Orchestras, Gustavo Dudamel, Anthony McGill and many more.

Valerie Kahler takes over for Fred Child as host of "Performance Today" - beginning November 2025

Monday - Saturday, 5 - 7 p.m.

After twenty-five prolific years as host and senior editor of America’s most popular classical music radio show, Fred Child will step down from "Performance Today" at the end of October. You’ll hear both Fred and new host, Valerie Kahler, on-air together until Valerie takes over permanently in November.

Stay tuned for more announcements regarding the exciting future of "Performance Today," and join Classical KC in celebrating Fred’s twenty-five years of amazing service to the arts.

"Concierto" moves to Sunday nights - beginning October 2025

Sundays, 10 p.m - 12 a.m.

Close out your weekend with host Frank Dominguez and "Concierto." Produced by WDAV Classical Public Radio, "Concierto" is America's first nationally distributed bilingual (Spanish-English) classical music program that calls special attention to the contributions to the art form by Latin-American and Spanish composers and performers.
