Samantha Georgiana

Samantha Georgiana is an avid scholar who is currently a graduate student in the opera program at the UMKC Conservatory.

Samantha comes from a large, very musical extended family, but she is the first classical musician among them. Born and raised in Branson, MO, Samantha grew up with the backdrop of the picturesque Ozarks, in whose serenity she honed a love for nature, music, and literature. Her family surrounded her with many musical genres, and she developed a deep-seated love for jazz, ‘60s/‘70s folk rock, and classical music.

Samantha’s scholarly pursuits include research over Jean Sibelius’s early works on the Kalevala, the life and music of Erich Wolfgang Korngold, the intersection of Symbolism and Impressionism in fin de siècle France, and Joni Mitchell’s style shifts throughout her career. She also spends lots of time poring over the works of authors J.R.R. Tolkien and John Steinbeck.

Previous opera roles include Carmen in UMKC’s 2025 production of Carmen and Violetta in La Traviata Opera in the Ozarks in 2024. You can see Samantha in UMKC’s upcoming production of Giacomo Puccini’s Suor Angelica this spring, where she will eagerly make her debut as the titular Suor Angelica.
