Happy 184th birthday to Peter Tchaikovsky, who was born on May 7. We'll hear three of his crowd-pleasing favorites: “Capriccio Italien,” Midori playing his only violin concerto and his glorious first piano concerto with soloist Vadym Kholodenko. We’ll also hear a Kansas City Symphony commission honoring the fountains and culture of Kansas City called "Muse of the Missouri" written by American composer Stephen Hartke.

An agreement with the Kansas City Symphony allows us to share audio for this program up to four weeks after the program's original air date. You can listen to currently available episodes here.
